With every occasion we hear about spam. Spam this, spam that. But do we know about what are those all bad opinions? Do we know what spam really is? I am sure that for most of us it is just a term and maybe only one out of hundred understands the true meaning of this term. I would like to describe it on a example. We all know what flu is right? We know how to deal with this kind of infection and what to do to prevent it. This is what we call basic knowledge and we underestimate how helpful this knowledge might be in case of emergency. Especially when we are far away from any help like hospital or drugstore. Thinking this way why shouldn’t we know as much about spam as we know about flu? Most think that the scale of danger is not the same because spam do not affect us directly. But is that really truth? I don’t think so. Our computers in twenty first century without any spam filter or url filter are almost useless. Why? Because if our computer get a virus infection than we can be sure that sooner or later someone will be in possession of our personal details. Some details are useless but some are priceless. Let’s say that thanks to special virus or software someone is getting access to you banking account. Full access means that this person can do everything he likes with your money and savings. Does this affect you directly? I think so and that’s why I always recommend to install web filter along with other protection tools.
